Newborn Photography Phoenix, Az | What to Expect Post Quarantine
This has been updated to reflect reopening after quarantine protocol to assure everyone stays happy and healthy while documenting these once in a lifetime moments!
Congratulations on expecting your sweet new baby! Assuming you're looking for a newborn photographer in or around Phoenix for yourself, friend, or family member - you've come to the right place and I can't wait to hear from you!
My sessions for newborn photography take place within the first 10 days of birth, and preferably within 7 days. Post quarantine, until further notice, I will be booking a VERY limited number of sessions each month, so I suggest booking at least 2 months in advance to assure availability. Booking during your third tri-mester is suggested, but if you've already had your baby, not to worry. Due to the nature of newborn photography, I keep tentative sessions available for early/late arrivals and I may be able to fit you in given availability of my current expecting clients.
I offer in-home sessions exclusively for newborn sessions. I bring lighting with me when photographing newborns so I can capture beautiful moment of your little one in any space. I own all of my props you see here and will bring along some of my favorites and some new items to give you plenty to choose from. If there's something you see that you love - I'll be sure to bring it along! Newborn photography sessions generally last 3-4 hours - we need time to let baby feed and fall asleep in between scene changes.
Session Fee is to be paid at the time of booking. This fee will hold my session date and time and is non-refundable with out 14 days notice of cancellation. Package or a la carte selections for print minimum are to be made at the time of the session and paid for in full.
Gallery of 20-30 images will be granted 2-3 weeks after the session date. Additional prints/photo products can be purchased at that time. Images taken by The Photographer will be held for at least one year from the session date.
If purchasing print rights, The Photographer will provide you with any documentation that may be requested so that you can print and reproduce The Work at your leisure.
Below are some frequently asked questions I receive as a Phoenix newborn photographer. I'm always happy to answer individual questions and am always adding to this list, so please email me if you have any of your own that aren't answered here.
I so look forward to photographing your little miracle!

Newborn Photography Sessions | Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my newborn photography session?
I book a limited number of newborn sessions each month and generally book out 1-2 months in advance. Booking during your third trimester is suggested.
How do I know what day to book my newborn photography session?
Given your due date, I will work with your to find a time that gives a little leeway for actual arrival and schedule a tentative session. This session date can be changed if baby arrives early/late as needed to assure they are photographed within 14 days of birth.
How do I secure my session date?
A deposit of your session fee will secure your tentative session which allows for changes.
Where do you travel?
I offer newborn sessions exclusively in-home traveling within Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale. If you live in areas outside of Phoenix like Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, and Peoria I can offer a session with an additional travel fee that will be added to your session fee.
What do I need to do to prepare for my session?
By the time baby arrives and the weeks leading up, you've been through a lot! After booking your session, I'll take it from there. I'll send a reminder a week before our session and make sure you have all you need to know. I own all of my props and will have some of my favs along with new items ready for your arrival. Simply bring your typical diaper bag for a few hour outing and if you have something sentimental you'd like your little one photographed in or with feel free to bring it along also!
What do I need to do during my session?
Relax! You've worked pretty darn hard welcoming baby already! One reason I love in-home session it's less stress on the baby and family. If you have extended family in town, they can join, and you have everything you need for baby and yourselves. You can sneak in a few things you've been meaning to do, or take a much needed nap! I've yet to have children of my own, so I have all the patience in the world for your sweetie (not to mention I got 8 hours the night before, not to make you jealous). I've got everything but feeding covered!
What if baby pees?
I can't tell you how many times when the diaper comes off I'm holding nakie baby, I look over at mom and I can see anxiety arising.. "I don't want him/her to pee on you" usually follows. I will most likely be peed on during our session and it's something I'm all too familiar with! Not to worry, I expect it ;) Blankets, wraps, and furs are no exception and are sanitized before and after each session.
How long until I see the photos?
Online private (password protected) galleries are posted within 3 weeks after our session. A sneak peek photo can be shared if you'd like, I know I wouldn't be able to wait to see my own sweetie!
Do you offer Birth announcements?
Yes, and I absolutely love creating them! I have custom designs and select several that would work with the images of your baby. Those options will be sent to you for your selection and you choose the images. Your final layout will also be sent for your approval before printing. Birth announcements are offered in both flat and folded cards.
How long until I receive my prints?
For all clients in the Phoenix area - After reviewing your gallery and purchasing your prints, you can expect to receive them within 2 weeks of ordering (generally sooner for gift prints).
Can I order digital files to print myself?
Yes, digital file disks are available both in the Print & Digital Collections and as an a la carte option. Digital print right drives include each photo from your gallery. Print right digital files allow you to select individual files (photos) from your gallery that you'd like to purchase. Either of these options allow you to share photos online and print them as you please.
